    picture 2 is definitely a female slow worm (from the old english slug worm)they will appreciate free access to your compost or a similar habitat and love to bask at the edges ofthe same ensuring a quick escape into cover,females can be distinguished from males as the females head is smaller in diameter than the body the males heads are much larger and the males are usually grey verses the brown/copper stripy females,the colour only develops in males when mature as juveniles they all have the stripey look.pic three is a common lizard.both are now protected by law and it is an offence to deliberately (or even accidentally)kill or injure them.I have a colony of slow worms on my plot but not the common lizards,don't even ask what's in the shack or come to that my living room
