I've build a raised bed around the edge of my allotment, I've got some roots in there which I'm expecting to fork as this ground is quite rich.

I also have 2 raised beds in the garden at home which have herbs and salads planted in them, so it will all depend on where your raised bed is as to what you grow in it.

Your manure in the video looks quite fresh to me, how long has it been sitting?
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

An idea of where the raised bed is and it's size and I was asked about what other ground I had available. So wanted to give people an idea.

Mikey yes it is fresh the old guys on the plot ordered a load and roped me into going halfs Iv'e said the same thing about the muck myself.

So the raised bed is on your allotment and you want suggestions as to what would be better in the raised bed than in the rest of the plot? I still say carrots

Last year I had a couple of tonnes of fresh manure and made a hot bed with it, simply put I built up a corner and loaded all the muck in and topped it off with about 4 inches of soil left it for a couple of weeks then planted my pumpkins in it. The extra heat brought them on a treat, then when they went over I top dressed my beds with the now well rotted manure after I'd finished my winter digging.

I'd love to follow a no dig method like TS, but my inherited knowledge tells me otherwise. I have set up a raised bed over this winter so I can test out a no dig policy, which will have green manures in it after this years root crops, who says old dogs can't learn new tricks.
