  • Quiz - what kind of tree is this?

I have this tree/shrub growing on my allotment - can anyone identify it? I'm trying to decide whether to nuke it....

Forsythia. Yellow flowers early on, boring the rest of the year, not worth eating.

I love this forum. Any tips on care? Will it keep growing bigger? Can i kill it?

It looks as if it been cut back often - otherwise it would be a big straggly thing. Cut back the flowering branches after flowering - it flowers on this year's new stems. Tough as old boots. Stick your prunings in the ground and you'll have a forsythia hedge in no time!!
I like it actually. If you cut the branches before they flower and take them indoors, add a few daffs, and instant spring flowers

I have two daffs threatening to flower too - though i'd feel terrible cutting them. Thanks for the tips VC, i'm guessing i'll have a hard job trying to get rid of it, so i might as well leave it there and keep it under control... it's positioned where it'll never cast shade on my beds anyway.

Keep it bario. Its a welcome splash of colour at this time of year
Actually, a couple of mine have died off recently - they may have a limited life span. I'd better poke in a few more cuttings
