So after a 2 year wait (lost last lottie when we moved counties) I have just got a new allotment. Its in reasonable condition as the last person is moving away rather than it being taken back after being neglected. Its large, and I need to get some things in fairly soon so I'm thinking quite a few potatoes and then ordering some plug plants rather than starting from seed. Any recommendations on good space filling plants that would be good to go in? Sweetcorn, brocolli, climbing beans, courgette and squash are already on the list. Will post a couple of pics when I get a chance

It turns out they gave me the wrong plot number to look at, same situation but its a much smaller size. I'm guessing but I'd say it's around 10ft by 30-40ft maybe. Took it anyway as theres no others and will get pics and measurements at the weekend. Still need to get some plants in quick, and yes probably some green manure, but dont think a shed is justified. Will probably get a bivvy tent thing like one I used to have for night fishing as an emergency shelter and somewhere to knock up a cup of tea
Permaculture idea is going to be more challenging on a smaller plot but I intend to give it a go if I can.My organic gardening etc blog - http://thecornflake.blogspot.com
