Is it not true that the reason Jersey Royals are always clean and slug-hole free is because of the sea weed applied helping the tatties, and the slugs not liking the salt in it?

I thought people rinsed the salt off seaweed before application? Maybe I dreamed it?!!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
