Hey! You've got baby broc too!. My broc's bigger than your brocc, nyah nyah. Not bored at all. Let me know how it tastes when you get round to picking it.
We took a picture of the very first seed sown on our lottie as it germinated ....I still get excited ...You put in lots of hard work trying to get the damn things to grow , get despondant with the weather and the weeds and the bugs and then .......BOOM ...you get your first peas/beans/cauli or whatever and all the grief is forgotton...........
I squealed out loud tonight when I saw the first courgette on one of the plants. I swear it wasn't there yesterday and today it is suddenly 3" big!
My 10yr old was picking peas for me and she was playing "vegetable hunters" and giving herself a loud running commentary as she was searching out pea pods to pick. I think she's got the bug too!
Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!
One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

I had a whole head of wet garlic with a tin of tomatoes [I know!] and chopped potatoes and some hot saucey type stuff tonight....It was blummin lovely.
How great to find a kindred spirit. I have grown broccoli succesfully for the first time ever -no caterpillars, no white fly no pigeons etc, and I have baby broccoli heads probably ready to pick at the weekend. That's why I was dancing round the garden shouting 'I've got baby broccoli'. My husband doesn't understand, you might.
