Disgusting behaviour and they should be removed from the site and banned for life.
God help anybody that steals from me. I've had a leek taken and they left the hand trowel that they used to dig it up with. Expensive leek that was. It may only have been one leek but what bothers me more is that someone had the audacity to enter my plot!.
Very very annoying, more so on principle than the stolen crops IMO.
Please inform us of the outcome.

It's really shocking behaviour but not unexpected from two blokes who practically live on the allotment site and drink cans of beer all day. This could be the quite serious for them as they spend all their time up there and risk losing it.

I've reported the whole incident to the City Council and they've forwarded the report to the Allotment Officer. I'll hopefully hear from him later this week.
I'll be going up this afternoon to check on things. I'll keep you posted.

I totally understand why people are angry and why they would do this and that I totally agree with Two Sheds on this and am glad you have reported it. Without pictures or anything though if they have any sense they will deny ever being on your plot so chances are they will not be removed. Lets hope the beer has killed enough brain cells for them to not be bright enough to deny it

At least now they have been caught red handed and will think twice. Worse case senario here is they continue and get caught again.

Hopefully never on your plot again cheeky sods.
Today I will be mainly growing Vegetables.

Tonight The bloody slugs & snails will eat them!

I'm facing the same argument over the plotter who has been RoundUpping my flowers: everyone knows who it is, but nobody wants to tackle him. The committee are hiding behind the "we don't have proof" argument, because the guy is an ex-committee member and part of the Olde Boyes gang, who think they own the site.

Because of my possible eviction from my Council plots which was due to take place yesterday at 2.00pm, I had taken more than 50 concrete slabs out in to a general amenity area. My better half warned me they might disappear but as I had other stuff to take out - greenhouse, tunnel, fencing shed, fruit bushes et al, I had to leave them there pending transport to my new privately owned plot. Well half a dozen 2 x 2 slabs disappeared last night.

Our site has had no problems with theft by tenants in the 17 years I have been there but we have a new tenant on site.

He has been allocated a starter plot, one of three in a single plot. When he came in, he emptied the compost bin of one of the other three and dug the compost into his plot. He appropriated fencing boards from a vacant plot and used them to mark the boundary of his starter plot. He also appropriated long fencing posts from that vacant plot and took them away. He removed sand from another of the starter plots in his plot and took that away. He took slabs from the edge of his plot which had been placed there to allow the plot holder below to take water to his plot and moved the slabs(which had been provided by me) to the centre of his plot. The boundary of his plot is not square and in the new position, he found himself short of a slab. As I said, I had half a dozen slabs knocked last night and today the space where there was a slab short is no longer short of a slab. Any guesses where that mysterious slab came from?

Lost the Court Action but New Council went head to head with council officers witha view to me beingallowed to stay . Should have been a motion in Council today to force Council officers to allow me to stay and for Council to meet its own costs of the Court Action. In the event, Council Officers caved in and there was no need for motion in Council. I still have to receive written confirmation of all this but I am assured by the Council's finance convenor that it is done and dusted.

We had an issue with thefts by a fellow allotmenteer.
One of those trail cameras used for wildlife photography got proof and they were immediately evicted. They can be easily hidden, disguised, and set up with plot number under surveilance in view, date and time set, there was some legal issue with the fact that we had no signs saying CCTV, but eviction notice was served anyway, and it wasn't challenged by the guilty party.
That was eight years ago and the fact that someone on site has such a camera deters anymore thefts, or maybe we just have nice people now.

That's why we are screwed as a race when someones rational is to hurt another with spiteful acts for personal gratification. Sad sick people with no compassion.

Seems you'll have to repay the kindness

I have considered using my camcorder, but the attacks are infrequent (2 or 3 attacks in a 12 month period).
I have even thought about going up the plot at five am to see what's occurring.
I haven't the time to go through that much footage ~ I haven't the time to even go through all the dangerous driving clips that I take when out on my bike
