  • Size is important!

Hi folks. I am new to growing garlic and planted elephant garlic in November.
I have read a lot of posts on how to tell if garlic is ready. The most easy and strait forward one said to look at the bulb, if its white it's ready if it not it not. Great! the leaves are yellowing so I check a couple out the bulbs and they were white, but they are the size of a medium sized spring onion! What has happened? am I to early? Any advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

This doesn't sound right....Even if they are not quite ready, they should be a bit bigger than that..........
Can you give us more details as to how and where planted, care etc..

I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Right sorry for the delay, but family dose get in the way.
I am in west Lothian, the soil is heave clay, a planted them in ridges as a had read that if the soil is not free draining then this would work for them. I have attached a photo. The soil had chicken pellets worked in then BFB in may, and a liquid feed last week.
Oh yes one of the builds just now has a flower spike. To little to late or just impatient?
