Sweet potatoes

Hi everybody, is it to late to plant sweet potatoes?...going up to plot tomorrow and can pick some up on way but don't want to waste time and money.

Sweet potatoes are usually grown from "slips" (cuttings) Sweet potatoes / RHS Gardening. I would think its a bit late now.
