  • Something eating my marrow:(

    Hi all
Went to the lottie this morning and my small marrow I wanted to harvest today was nibbles by something .... The nibble was fresh from this morning. Never had anything eat marrows before. Any ideas if this is a bird or maybe a rabbit or other animal? Not sure if I need to consider netting...which I have currently run out of. Any pieces of advice?

Big or little nibbles? Teethmarks or slurpmarks? Any photos?

slugs and snails will eat marrow especially if you haven't propped it up off the ground to ensure good air circulation which helps prevent mould and deprives the slugs of a five star hotel which is moist with an edible roof.
As its so hot small mammals like mice ,vole ,rats and squirrels may also have a nibble for the high water content

This seems more than a slug. Has to be something with teeth marks. Unfortunately no photos were taken.

Yes, slugs have teeth. Really they do. They leave kind of scrape marks in veg.

Or do you mean bite marks? Really, a photo would help
