  • Lovely surprise!!

The back of my plot is full of nettles, brambles, weeds and apple tree branches (cut from the tree earlier in the year). I have kind of ignored the area this year, concentrating on the part of the plot that was workable.

Anyway, I took some stuff to the compost area last week and noticed the brambles right at the back were flowering and I wondered if they might be blackberries.

Went to the compost area tonight and realised they are actually raspberries!! There are loads I can't get to because of 5ft high nettles etc, but there are a load of flower/fruit closer that I will be able to reach. I managed to pick about 10 tonight to bring home but I'm hoping to have a lot more very soon.
