  • Caring for Strawberry plants over winter

Hi, i know im a little ahead of myself but can any one offer any advice about looking after my strawberry plants over winter?

I currently have a bed of around 20 strawberry plants and I have been planting the runners this week.

(i am very new to this) At the end of the season what do i need to do with them? do i need to cover them over winter? Do i need to prune them?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Adam

    Welcome to the vine Adam.

Just trim off all the old leaves of the Strawberry plants and leave them where they are. No need to cover them they are really tough. It might be worth covering the plants when they start to flower to protect the flowers from from frost.

Hell I do nothing, even to the ones in pots and they just rise up the next year even after spending a month under snow and ice
