    Maybe a silly question but im going in blind can spuds still be planted now?

    Yes they can, find autumn tubers..plant now and hopefully harvest for Xmas, hope I'm right fellow viners I put some in Fri, and have another batch on its way along with my onion sets .

        You can plant late cropping potatoes now BUT it is risky as potatoes will need frost protection and the days of blight can't be too far away now. I think you are better with potatoes in pots which can be moved undercover.
        As for carrots you'd need to check the packet and go for a quick growing one like Early Nantes.

          You have a better chance with carrots outdoors than potatoes...
          As stated, depends on weather, but might be best in bags so that you can move into a greenhouse before frosts..
