When I won best newcomer in Leeds last year here were some criterea:

    1) Make sure it is weedfree
    2) Acurate labling to include varieties
    3) Good companion planting.
    4) Remove any damaged plants prior to judging.

I'm sure there is more but can't remember off the top of my head.

So you want us to win this for you?

Personally, I don't get into the competition side of things, it gets a bit silly and a bit nasty. Our main chap, who expects to win every year, has cut a hole in the site fence so he can nip in without using the gate, and he uses a hosepipe (which aren't allowed) from his house to his lotty.

He's also the chap who sprays weedkiller on my flowers, and my neighbour's tomatoes.
He walks round the site at 6am, before he goes to work. He just hasn't worked out that all the residents in the adjacent flats can see him, and what he gets up to.

Andy, looks like you've spent a lot of time thinking and planning your plot, looks great, when is the comp? How much have you done already? I see you've even included flowers, lavender does well on my plot and the bees love it, sweet peas also?

Wish you luck and look forward to pics

                  Ermmm,
Anyway, for fear of being accused of being negative, I'll give you a few positives about your plan:-
You positively have not shown where North is on your plot so have you considered the effect of shade from, say your beans, on the adjacent crops
The sticky out bits on your beds near the GH look positively awkward and interfere with the layout. You'll be wheeling your barrow around a chicane course.
You positively don't have any water catchment shown
You positively should consider planting flowers that are bee friendly rather than just decorative
You positively have made a spelling mistake with "Tresspassers"

and from my own perspective - twee bought in signs make me feel positively uncomfortable - a hand painted sign on an old spade seems far more in keeping.

Is that positive enough for you?

It may be best for all concerned if this thread was removed...........just my opinion.

I think this thread has run its course. The original posts are no longer available anyway which makes this very confusing so I'm going to close it.
