I saw the plan of available plots.
Check out which way is North, whether there's any shading from trees or buildings, where the water supply is as you may be carrying it, how close you can park and what the neighbouring plots look like.
    Good luck

I'm hoping for D6b from the plan. Not overlooked and north to the right of the plot with water relatively close by compared to the others.

Well sorted the plot. Sorry no pic but will add one next week when I get down there.

It's a start from scratch plot, not overgrown with anything and ready to dig over. It's 14m x 4m and the longest side runs north to south. At the south side there are trees about 5m away that may block some light??? Didn't look to bad to me but what do I know. Looks like I have a few neighbours on the same row who are just starting there plots too.

Water was not too far away and car park just next to plots so very handy.

Can't wait to get going and will make sure I get some pics up and start myself an online diary.

For the coming weeks my time will be spent reading and planning and digging I suspect :-)

Winter is definitely the quietest part of the gardening year. Get all the books you can out of your local library, and read, read, read. Make a list of what you like to eat, draw up a plan on squared paper, and start buying seed.

Something you definitely can't get enough of, is leafmould.

I'm scraping 2 bags a day off our pavements and cycle lanes (the council don't do it) ~ I've got about 20 sacks at home, same again at school, and at the lotty. It makes the most beautiful potting compost if you can leave it for 2-3 years, or add it as a mulch after a year.

Here is a pic of my plot. I have the right half of this and there is another guy who has recently taken on the other half so we should both be completing the same kind of things at the same time.

I'm away with work for a week but hoping to get going the week after that
