Can anyone give some advice on a good potato to grow now that is a bit of an all-rounder. We mainly use pots for mash, roast and chips

Wilja are a great all rounder and one that farmers grow on a regular basis.

Taste is such a subjective thing, and will be influenced by your soil conditions etc., that I think trying several varieties that other people recommend is more likely to get you one that you really like.
Having said that, last year I grew the 10 most popular Tomatoes varieties that all my gardening mates swear by, instead of my normal choices, and I didn't like any of them!K's Garden blog the story of the creation of our garden
