Guidelines from the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) say councils must provide allotment holders who are displaced with alternative arrangements, which should "ideally be within three-quarters of a mile" of the existing site.
We have recently published guidelines that strengthen protection for allotments as well as introducing a range of measures to help communities who want land to grow fruit and vegetables
So the safeguards are now in place, after the original petition in 2011.

As sites dwindle how long do you think they can honor that?

Please read this new update as it affects us all and throws doubt on the Safegaurds Thelma Sanders highlighted, and shows how underhanded these ( makes me sick to call them people ) are.

Some may say this plan has been thrown out, Some may say it's all pie in the sky but the fact is it keeps raising it's ugly head.

You may feel i'm over reacting, but history and experience has taught me that give these people an inch and they will come back for the eyes out of your head and scrape the sockets clean.

The article may be an old article, but the date on this in the independent is this month, which would suggest it's on the agenda again.

If I missed something then i'm sorry but I am going of the date stamp in the independent 24th April 2014.

Either way they will keep after our land if we don't stop them.

Shows I got my teeth into this one though heheheheheh
