I don't but I use elodea canadensis in the pond for that purpose. I guess it might be called canadian pond weed?! And I may have invented the spelling!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

You shouldn't need to oxygenate a water butt Poozie - just make sure it's covered to keep out undesirables. You could also consider putting a filter on the end of the down pipe (foot cut off a pair of tights will do, held in place with a strong rubber band). That way only clean water gets in.

I've got "duckweed" on top of mine to keep out flies and things - it works. I do have to clear a space for the watering can when it goes in though. Only thing it doesn't keep out are squirrels etc one of which I found floating a couple of weeks ago and uncharacteristically let out a girly squeal before breaking out in a cold sweat. Yeuch!Bright Blessings

Had to put a piece of old fireguard over my 'dipping' tank last week, as I found a bird had drowned in it... Felt really guilty, but they have a shallow pond for splashing round in, didn't think they'd bother with the big tank.
Every day's a school day...

I have a pond/ well thing. It was concreted before I got here, it started to leak so I put a pond liner in....I did put up photos a few years back,
Anyway, I would like something that would oxygenate it and also give me a water feature.
Is solar any good?
If not, can you recommend an electric thing....I don't know what o need. I looked at GC at the weekend and came home none the wiser.

Garden centres are useless at ponds in general I think. I'd like a pump too, as I'm hoping to add a little goldfish or two to my tiny pond
