  • Cold frame/greenhouse

I have a roomy little plastic cold frame which could easily double as a wee greenhouse when all the hardening off is done! It is about 4'6" by 3', and about 3' high at top of pointy roof. There are two big flaps in the roof for ventilation.

Any ideas as to what I could grow in there? Shame to waste the space!

I'm probably going to get a few Toms going in mine undecided yet and chillies in the polly.
Today I will be mainly growing Vegetables.

Tonight The bloody slugs & snails will eat them!

I am no expert, but I think starting off chilli peppers now would be a bit too late.

I have always grown tomato plants from seed, but this year sowed chilli seeds too, on the same day. the toms are about 6" high (would be OK to pot on, if weather was a bit warmer) but chilli seedlings are only an inch tall (only 2 true leaves)

I did see in Wilkinsons a few weeks ago 6 chilli seedlings for £3. Maybe worth a phone call to see if there are any left.

I think it depends on the variety. I would give Cayennes a shot as they are reasonably quick to fruit compared to other varieties of chillies.
