What to use for pathways on patch?

      On our last allotment we just mowed between the beds.
      20 mins once a fortnight seemed to do the trick...with the occasional strim.

        we used to get free wood chippings from the local tree fella, but it does rot down and need replacing every year or so.
        Wood will also grow various fungi, which you might not want if your little one puts such stuff in their mouth


        I've experimented with all kinds of paths over the years, and have finally settled on bare earth, and resigned myself to having to weed it pretty much constantly (I cover up the worst patches with wet newspapers to kill the weeds).

            True the gravel is a little less comfortable however I wear trouser with padded knees in as I had a problem with my knee a few years back and was advised not to kneel direct onto the ground so don't really notice.
