  • Going to have a bit of fun next year

There's a few things on my allotment that I water religiously....courgettes and Beans being the most obvious whilst some things such as parsnips and strawberries get an occasional water.
Onions, peas leeks, sweetcorn and a few others...including potatoes, get nothing.

I've also been giving courgettes and beans a half strength feed of miracle grow with every watering.

So next year, im thinking of growing the same crops but trying a row of each with watering only and a row of each with feed every watering.....just to see the results when the crops are grown side by side.

    Anyone else done similar ?

No, but that's a great idea.

Incidentally, I was talking to a knowledgeable grower at the weekend who said that MG is all hype and advertising budget, and a better feed is Chempak no. 3. Just thought I'd mention it.

I've always had superb results with MG personally. Profesional gardener and nurseryman for 32 years, there's not much else around that I'd use. Im even thinking about talking to the boss this week to see if we can get anything in for the garden I look after (see signature)

Sorry - didn't mean to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, as it were.

I still tend towards phostrogen although it doesn't dissolve as easily
