I have a nice healthy raised bed of sweetcorn. Just starting to flower so no cobs on any of it yet. Doing really well... Until yesterday. I found one of the canes flat to the ground. It seems it may have been chewed about 2-3 inches above ground level. But I can't be sure and it looks as if something has attempted to dig a bit at the side of it. Year before last badgers demolished the crop of cobs. But I can't figure what would have done this so early on. The cane is too chunky for it to be a slug. (Super slug??) Strangely the cane was right in the middle of the bed too, not on the perimeter as you'd expect. Any ideas anyone?
