I was asked to add some pictures of our allotment by other members of the vine so here we are, the allotment site came with a shed which was well past its best which we have taken down, it had a path of sorts hidden underneath all of the grass and we have taken up the slabs + bricks. Two Plum trees which are a bit past their best and fruit bushes situated all over the plot without any real order.

Since then we have taken down the shed (MASSIVE ASK) I've never seen so many nails in my life.
I dug out the plum tree in the middle of the plot and this has been removed, the raspberries have been moved to the neighbouring plot. There are quit a few gooseberry bushes dotted around the plot which don't seem to be productive so I will be looking at removing/moving/replacing those or possibly taking cuttings. We dug out a bed and put in some garlic & onions to overwinter through some porous weed membrane.
I am currently in the middle of making a raised bed to the side of the bed that is currently dug out. Our plot is a lot higher than one of our neighboring plots so the plan is to lower the paths and use the soil for more raised beds.
It's slowly but surely getting there I haven't been able to get down as much as I've wanted due to work commitments but I've changed to a job which gives me more freedom in that respect so I hope to March on so I have some good growing space next year.

Looking good FV, at this rate you'll be ready for the 2015 Calendar................sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Just re-looked at my reply above and it must have appeared very judgmental!
I apologize for this FV, I'm just turning into a miserable Auld Git as I get older.

I finished off my raised bed the other day and will need to pop down tomorrow or Friday to put in the 40 odd Strawberry plants I purchased for my DIY planters (10 in one planter) into another bed popping through weed membrane. Can't wait to see the yield in an actual bed! (I equate it to the strawberries sharing a bedsit to then move into a mansion)

I've done a bit more work on the paths and have put some weed membrane down for my next beds. Just need to get the shed & greenhouse that I've inherited down here now! Sneaky birds are pulling up my newly planted garlic so I've covered it. All my strawberries are in now for next year. Slowly getting excited
