Trying to increase my yield of leaf mould, as I haven't taken advantage enough over time. The last couple of years I've used old compost bags, to good effect, but haven't got room for big, chicken wired bays. Would the metal incinerator bins, that have the holes near the bottom, work do you think?

I can't see why not, ourarka. As long as there is some air circulation, which you would get from the holes. But I'm not an expert on the subject so maybe wait and see what someone else says.

I think the volume of leaves decrease rapidly to start - you may will end up with an incinerator half full for 6months. Not sure you will see any benefit from using an incinerator bin as opposed to the bags? At least in bags you can pile them up when they've started to rot down.Comment

I just use black bin bags with a few holes punched in the sides. Works really well and very cheap.

Black bags for me to, Grandson gets a £1 a bag for helping me, so the money saved using black bags is some what negated
