I got offered a supply of 'free manure' from a local hoss place, but when I went to pick it up, it wasn't manure and maybe straw, it was mostly sawdust, with some manure and the odd bit of grubby hay. It's very fresh.
I picked up a load thinking it's got to be useful for something, and I know it'll compost down eventually, but what's the best thing to do with it? I had an empty dalek, so what I have went in there to rot for now, but can I add it direct to lasagne beds? How long will it take to rot down?
I'm trying to build up several beds on very thin soil for next year, and I have no money, so I'd really like to be able to make use of an unlimited supply of hoss muck, even if it is mixed with lots of sawdust, but obviously I don't want to wind up with beds that aren't ready for planting come late spring.
Any ideas?
