It's been months since I posted and I've been unable to access the site.
Allot has happened since my last visit I got 10 chickens and built a big run on my plot which was amazing until two weeks ago five were taken and the other five a foxx killed . I have been indevastated but went back yesterday and my greenhouse gas had pains smashed and the plots a mess. My raised beds are rotted and I need advice weather to just get rid of the.m and have open ground. Can anyone advise please?

Also last year I had lots of empty beds so I need advice how I have continual produce throughout the year - I eat anything and want to have constant produce throughout the year and try jam n preserve making n pickling. Just do t understand how I acheive this and what I should be planting and when followed by the next.

No fan of T&M but you need to use something like this Vegetable Seed Sowing Guide | Thompson & Morgan. Sow little and often in the periods for harvest through the periods shown.

I read lots of books and web sites when I got into gardening a few years ago. There is so much information available read around and then decide who you are going to use as a primary source.

To stop weeds cover beds with cardboard. If you feel you can't fill all your beds then stick in some pumpkins. they plants are enormous, look impressive and are all compostable!

Get out your pen and paper and plan it. You need to write down what veg you want to grow. Work out what plants will go in each bed at the start of the season. Note the cropping time and have plants waiting in the wings ready to fill the bed. It's all trial and error.
There are always lean times and some weeks where there is little to pick. These are the times you use your preserved food.

As for the rotten raised beds..how long have you had them in? I'm no DIY expert but my scaffold boards lasted about 4/5 years and I think this is as long a life as can be expected. I like having the edges but I'm not going to bother to renew mine this year. I can't justify the cost unless I stumble upon a few free ones

Either of those should keep you in basic veg without too much maintenance, then in future years you can try other veg and other ways of growing.
