taking that into consideration - it could be the loganberries that have just started to appear and ripen that could be putting them off the broccoli leaves!?!? if it was the pigeons in the first place!!

On my site it seems that every other plot holder keeps racing pigeons and it's those blighters which ate my sugar snap peas!!!! I've found the only way to keep them off is to build a chicken wire fence around or over them.
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

May I remind you all of the following legal point please

Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act it is illegal to shoot pigeons without a licence, unless they are causing a health hazard and non-lethal control methods have failed.

If 'you' must use netting to deter pigeons, and other birds, please only use 'wildlife friendly' netting/covering.

If you've ever come across the pitiful sight of a bird trapped in netting or seen the injuries suffered by birds resulting from the same - a common sight to see feral pigeons with elephantitis (severe swelling) in one of its legs, or missing a leg or sometimes both legs, due to gangrene - you'll know exactly what I'm alluding to.
Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.

A very valid point the KofA.
I have seen blackbirds ( and hedgehogs) caught up in netting- in the hot midday sun.

Certainly something to be aware of

As we have now moved away from the original question of bird scarers, this thread is now being closed.
