thinking of getting an allotment

our garden looks onto a patch of allotments and ive noticed alot less people over the years, the people i do see regularly are the ones that have been going for years, but there seems to be a lot of empty plots over the last 2 years or so, which is the reason me and my daughter thought now would be a good time to get one, no doubt that in a few months theyll be a waiting list knowing again!
