  • Neem?

Has anyone used Neem spray as an natural pesticide? If yes did you buy it or make your own? I am thinking of trying to grow Neem plants and having a go at making my own.

Hello Julie & welcome to the vine, can Neem trees be grown in the UK as they are native to hotter climates?

        Neem?

[Sorry just trying to flounder my way around this site]. Re: welcome - thanks Re: tropical - yes I think so. I do have a small conservatory and have successfully overwintered a Tea-tree which has doubled in size - so I am hopeful.

          Neem?

And again thanks for the welcome - Yes I live in South Wales - quite high up in the valleys. I have a fairly small garden and have also just been allocated two big allotment plots down the road which I am dying to get started on 'if it ever stops raining for more than 1/2 a day'!!

I know what you mean about the rain in South Wales - but don't let on as I tell everyone its always Sunshiny here
There are several threads about using Neem oil but I don't think there's anything about growing it.
              Here's a few

Of course - its always sunny - I made it up about the rain - Interesting links. I try to garden organically and never use sprays or such but Neem seems a good option on the odd occasion.

[I would add I have a very happy healthy population of slugs and snails even though I round them up regularly and take them up the road to the mountain].

Its one for me, two for the slugs and snails and two for the jackdaws who pull anything up not secured with netting or covers.
