Good for you. When is this happening? Is it more like an inspection, no one knows when you're going to turn up? We will want full details. And obviously photos.
Take your phone and take photos if you see a good idea to use, would be useful for when you are back at home and if you are unsure who is the winner if you have to confirm your findings as well.
If you see any really useful ideas we could use then you can post the pics on here and share it with the rest of us.
The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...
I'd love the excuse to go nosing round some random allotments! I pass several sites on my train commute and always enjoy seeing how they change. I often take the long route round our own site just so I can see what's going on but you can't really have a proper nosey
you will really enjoy it. I am on our village show committee, judges on the day are from outwith parish boundaries but two committee members judge the gardens - best and new (lived there for less than 7 years or had major revamp).
Last year I foolishly/bravely said I'd do it. I ended up having a fun day. We have also managed to add a new category for this year of Judge's choice, as there were a few gardens that we loved, but they would unlikely win using the scoring system used. Judging again this year as all judges do two years.
Then next year is our last year we can enter for new garden.

Our allotment group are going to be visiting some allotments in Newbiggin in two weeks time to see how they do things. They have created their own allotment association and that meeting we had a few weeks ago was about creating our own and the council guy has organised this trip Looking forward to having a nosey around a few plots and seeing how they do things....apparently the plot holders there (and in nearby Ashington - pit villages) are VERY serious about their veg growing I've already booked the day off work and will definitely have my camera handy to take pics if I'm allowed to.
Well today was judgement day and I've got to say I really enjoyed it .
Visited 10 sites with 335 plots and got to say it was a real eye opener .
The guy who we voted as best alotment had a 600 yard plot which was one of the best plots I've ever seen .they guy had even developed a cabbage which he can grow all year round .forgot to say he was 80 years young aswell.
By the way my plot was voted to be 6th best which I was well chuffed with .all in all a great day and looking forward to a nice cold beer.
