Help - what is this vegetable?

Hi all,

Myself and my partner are new to growing our own fruit & veg... we started our allotment & greenhouse in the summer of this year and stupidly forgot to put down a few labels on some vegetables... we managed to figure everything out apart from this one root vegetable.

It has yellow stems and the vegetable looks a bit like a carrot although I'm sure it's not and I'm sure that we didn't plant any carrots. Can anyone help us figure out what it is please? We have surely learnt our lesson !

Hello Sophie and welcome to the Forum.
It looks like a yellow beetroot. Did you sow any mixed colour beets?

I would say a baby golden beetroot,
