You could try making a raised bed for the garlic.

I don't mean edging it with wood, bricks or anything - just use the soil from the paths or elsewhere to make a flat mound.

Should drain better - especially if you can add any compost (any in the bin?) and sand (if you have any)

Regarding the shed, I'm assuming that the sheets are attached to sommat so maybe the timber posts are already in place. Some of the sheets will make perfect roofing, making it higher at the front then the rain will run to the back into some guttering down into water butts. The remaining sheets could be used to make compost bins. There are always pallets going spare & if carefully taken apart will make a good shed...................Just think outside the box.......

And regarding the "garlic" You now have an abundance of growing space, why would you now want to set em off in pot's?

Just cultivate a small section of land, incorporate a bit of grit n sand to adapt your growing conditions as to the way the plant you want to grow thrives!

Thats the joy of having an "Allotment" They are just so adaptable!

The garlic should be fine. Remember - plant the largest bulbs first - just in case you run out of space.
