What potato to grow in 2017

I have been flicking through magazines and looking online for potatoes I'm looking at group 3-5 different types to cover me for everything we love new potatoes mash and baked potatoes so any recommendations would be good as the lists are endless. I think swift for my first early. I'm a plain and simple grower no fancy varietys

I have Lady Christl & Charlotte ordered, a few Alouette and PFA saved here and am hoping to pick up some Ratte and Sarpo Axona at a potato day early next year. Alouette is a lovely potato and apparently has some blight resistance.

I'm doing Charlotte for boiling, Kestrel for roasties and oven chips and Sarpo Kifli to take me through into the new year. Kifli are good for everything except mash and are very blight resistant.

First Earlies - I really like casablanca, not a waxy potato but tastes great

2nd early - Anya, waxy and got an an amazing crop

2nd early - charlotte - tastes great

2nd early Jazzy - heard great things so will try next year

I dont grow maincrop as tbh they are cheap as from the shop

Will try some new varieties this year but I will be growing Lady Christl (First Early), Anya (Second Early) and Vivaldi (Maincrop, I think although it is sometimes listed as a second early) again.

Lady Christl make a lovely tasty new potato and Vivaldi makes lovely mash.

Charlotte is a popular lady so I think I'll stick with her.

I have some Elfe tubers and can't find any Elfe seed spuds, so i think I will stick with him.

I also have some Desiree stored tubers but I think I may give those a miss this year.

The main one is a packet of Russian unpronouncable (TSP) True Seed Potatoes I was given. I will sow these in January in a progagator and see how I get on.
So these, along with VC's Vince toms are two crops which i have no idea of taste or growth habit, or even colour for that matter

Lady C for taste boiled,sharpes express or vales emerald for yield & they're alright tasting boiled. Red duke of York for wedges (doesn't absorb oil like other first earlies I've used) or you can boil them,nice having a choice. Main crop I'll get Rooster again for jacket potatoes on the bbq or roast potatoes,a few people mentioned rooster on here a couple of years ago so I went with the majority & they're a great potato & store quite nicely but I ran out so next year I'll try & grow more
