  • Aghhh, I was too enthusiastic

Ok, so i got allocated my allotment late last Autumn and in my enthusiasm I decided to plant some broad beans in pots in Nov in my little greenhouse at home. Of course they've grown like wildfire and could do with planting out ...trouble is it's still on and off frosty and sometimes the ground is solid ...so do i re-pot them and keep them in , or plant them out and see what happens? ...sorry I'm a real novice at veggie growing ...and this'll teach me for moving from Cornwall to Herts!

They look brilliant, I'd harden them off & get them in the ground. If you are too concerned, fleece them.

They look great plants - well done
As BM says, harden them off and plant them out. They should be fine.

When I say I grew them in my little "greenhouse" , it was actually one of those 4 tiered plastic covered zip-up ones , so hopefully they will be a bit tougher than if they'd been grown in a proper glass house

They will be fine after hardening off. Give them some wind protection as this often does more damage to them than the frost.

I *think* BM means - sow some Nasturtiums to attract the blackfly *away from your broad beans*

Lol ...that's what I think I was supposed to do in the Nov sowing it would've meant that they weren't so far developed and a lot hardier ...I'm learning the hard way
