just got an allotment and the previous owner has asked for money for shed. now my question is if you rent the plot does the objects on that plot yours ? .. its committee run.

Hello Phillip & welcome to the Jungle, if the previous holder put the structure in place he is quite in order to either take it with him/her or come to some arrangement. I left my greenhouse & got a bit of cash for it. If you don't want it tell them & see what happens.

If previous owners want things off the plot they should remove them before the end of their tenancy unless something has been agreed. However, this is always going to vary from site to site.

when our plots are vacated with a decent structure on,the new tennant is charged a nominal amount if they want it,procedes to the funds.

Call their bluff & say you don't want it as it could be more trouble than it's worth for them to move it.

I put a notice up on allotment gates giving a date (this year 1st April) when all rents had to be paid by, and all plots had to be cleared by. After that, the new plotholder inherited everything on the plot to do with as they so wished. The only codicil to this was if the previous plotholderhad told me he wanted 'X' ammount for his greenhouse etc. If the new plot holder didn't want it, the previous plotholder could either take it before 1st April, or after that it was left for the new plotholder at no cost to them.
This year, no one tried to get money for anything left and plotholders inherited what was left on plot.
