  • Gotta Lottie!

Mad about gardening, just got allotment in Brum. It was ploughed last year, and left - full of weeds and dreaded mares tails! Looking forward to the challenge. Library books aplenty to arm me with details of what I need to do and when. I am doing this on the cheap as I just started my own photography business and ditched full time work. I am also a mum of a toddler, so not much cash to spare!! Any ideas on cold frames/cloches/winter covers on a weeny budget would be most welcome. Will make room for leaf mulch corner (chicken wire and reclaimed wood i already have) and composting at home.
Just gotta get my back into it now...

Welcome to the Vine, Lamby! Lots of good ideas from cheapskate grapes here!

As a starter for ten, for coldframes, find a conservetory/double glazing co - they throw out old windows - then replace the glass with polycarb (for safety)

Where in Birmingham is your allotment?

      Welcome to the Vine Lamby!!!!
Although it'll be a bit of hard work initially ( pace yourself gal!!), you'll never regret having a lottie.
Once you watch your little 'un running round with a bucket of soil and a stick .....oh and yes...the fruit/veg and flowers growing, whilst you unpack the picnic...... home from home
