Heated Propagators

Hello, i'm new here but hoping you can help!

I'm running out of room on windowsills for my seedlings. Do you know if you can but headed propagators that are suitable to put outside? I don't have a greenhouse at home (only on my plot) but whilst i'm raising seeds i would like them to be at home so i can keep a close eye on them

any advise would be great!

Could you make some sort of cold-frame area against the house wall say ? then put the seedlings out there in the day for light and bring them in again at night for warmth ?

I'd be worried about electrical safety. Also I wonder what the lowest ambient temperature they'd work at to give a good germination temperature.
I've used a Vitopod outside but much later in year and the plug and thermostat were inside green house.
Had look on Vitipod site but can't immediately see reference to IP rating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code. Might be worth sending email to manufacturer of propagator you are thinking of using.

Leads need to be run in conduits. A fox, I think, went through pond pump lead!

Hi and welcome.

Heated Propagators are for germinating seeds. They don't need light for that. Once they've germinated, take them out of the prop and put them somewhere light - like your windowsill.
