It is about 10x8 in size and apex now stands at 10ft not 11ft as I earlier stated. All other sheds on site are 6x8 and apex 6'6"

Bit off the wall and may be a line you don't wan to go down for various reasons, but if you offered to help do you reckon your neighbour would be up for moving their shed a bit by putting some rollers under it and shoving it to a different place on their plot ? I understand they didn't want the shade it brings either, but that implies they at least understand that shade is a problem when gardening.

Hope you get good news soon. What are the other Allotment holders saying?

I can’t quite fathom this man’s attitude. He doesn’t want to move his shed because it would create shadows on his plot, but he thinks it’s perfectly ok to create shadows on yours? What a horrible selfish person!

I hope you get a decent resolution.

Our site (and most of the sites in the borough since we use similar NSALG templates) states max heights for sheds AND that structures or trees shouldn't cast shade on other plots.

Personally I like to have a bit of shade to hide in on my plot or I would fry in summer - but my shed doesn't shade anything other than my space. I would be massively cheesed off if my greenhouse were shaded by something from someone else's.

If I'd tried the polite way and got no joy I'd be "sorry mate, you've put your shed right next to the spot I have my bonfires."

It seems the management agree with me, so hopefully it will be resolved amicably now. Already feeling sorry for them but happy I will be able to use my tunnel year round without being overshadowed.

Thanks for all the support, it means a lot.

Nice to hear a happy ending. Hopefully you'll be able to maintain a reasonably pleasant relationship with the neighbour.
