Afternoon all. I’ve decided to invest in a fruit cage for the allotment which will need to cover a large area (5m by 7m). I’m happy to invest in something strong and long lasting that’s functional rather than fancy. I’m handy but not up to making my own and most of the handmades on our site did not survive the beast as it is exposed. Has anyone bought one from a company the would recommend?

Our friends have one from Harold Horticulture. Looks nice.
We built our own. Metal ground spike fence post holders, 4x4 uprights. Then cross pieces top middle and bottom of all sides and across the top. Metal mesh. Laughted in the face of the beasts. Whereas several polytunnels succumbed, we are quite exposed as on a hill.
Appreciate you said you weren’t up to building your own but thought it might be useful to someone that a beast surviving one can be built fairly easily.

Even if you're not handy and can't butcher dead tree carcasses have a look at galvanised tube and tube clamps probably type A or B . If you buy a pre-made cage that's all you'll be getting and paying 3 times the price or a lesser quality.
There are several metal shops online who will delivery free and cut everything to size very cheaply. As with a pre-made you'll then just need screw it together and cover it in net.
I designed and priced a similar size, 8ft high with metal door last year using themetalstore and the thicker type b (33.7mm) tube https://www.themetalstore.co.uk/prod...e-clamp-33-7mm but never found the time (or money) to do anything about it.
