Dirt on Exeter, Oxford, Newcastle

We're looking at relocating, likely, to Exeter in the next 2 years, or possibly Oxford (awch on the house prices) or Newcastle. A bit far in advance but what's the situation with allotments there?

Anybody got one, how long does it take, high turnover etc? Do you have to be living there to get on the council's waiting list?

You could goggle the councils' allotment sites for an idea of waiting lists.

Go in between them all and move to North East Lincolnshire! Loads of plots, at around £100 each per year incl water

Exeter Plots

Exeter usually has some half plots available, the best site is Guys and Hilton, more specifically Guys as it’s the only site in town that isn’t clay, it’s by the river and used to flood and get covered in silt. Price about £35 per half plot including water from troughs, if you’re experienced you may get a full plot eventually. You need to be a resident to go on the list but waiting times are pretty short.
