Great that's six of us then so if you all send me a PM with your real names and where in Helston you live (just the street will do) I don't mind writing to the Council and asking them what they are going to do for us.

Hello every body

I live in Helston and have just started to grow my own veg.

Although due to work commitments at the moment (I am in the RN) I can not commit myself to having a plot of my own right now, I am very interested to know more about your plans. Are you trying to get individual plots or one large communal plot for a small group?

We're trying to get what ever we can really. There are no Council Allotments in Helston at all and we've been led to believe that if we can put together a request from at least 6 residents the Council have to try and find us some where. I would imagine that if we are successful it will be one large piece of ground they will then divide in to plots.

I'm still waiting for the others to send me their Identities and then I'll have a crack at the Council

Right I'm back from my holidays and eager to get on to the Parish council but I still need details of some of those who have shown an interest through this thread.

I think we're struggling here guys, it seems that Marny, Jim Crock & Porthleven Pear haven't visited the vine for quite some time and don't seem to have email addresses.

I wonder if its worth doing a bit of local rallying to notices etc. to see if we can get more interest, I only came upon this site by chance?

I've discovered that Lavender Ladies went ahead with setting up their spare ground as private allotments if you're interested? I'm thinking of going along to take a look and see just how far from home they are - appears to be about 15 minutes by car - I have more details - just PM if you want them

Hi I posted a message quite a while ago to say that I am five miles out of Helston and I have lotties available to rent on my smallholding. No one responded so thought that they may have been succesful in finding an alternative. I do still have some plots available. We have some plots well under way and really delighted. We just need a few more now to get the atmosphere just right!!!! We have private water, a toilet & somewhere to brew up.

I'm still waiting for the Town Clerk to get back to me to find out whether we can put in a formal request for allotments.

Lavender Ladies are nearer than Leedstown but they're private not council

Hi Lavendar ladies, its great to hear there were still some plots available in April. Are there any left? I am really interested and was wondering about the costs involved. If you could give me some more details I would like to come and have a look. Hope to hear from you soon.
