I know this is a long shot but do we have a forum member who lives in this area and who knows of allotments with vacant plots. I am fighting a losing battle trying to find one.

Sorry Worldor, I'm not near you but where have you tried asking? Try your local council as they may have a list of non-council allotments too. I keep reading in places to try local parishes too...?
Hey, isn't STEVE PARTRIDGE from StourBridge. He has a link to his Blog Spot that he posts each week http://www.myallotments.blogspot.com/
Might be worth PM'ing him to see if he knows where there might be spots free...?Shortie

Wouldn't that be nice but perhaps I better tread carefully at first. I have plenty of chickens in my garden which is why I need the allotment. Don't know whether I would want them that far away from me any way as I like to talk to them during the day

How did it go Worldor? Will you take the site if it comes up later?
I thought abuot chooks why I get a lottie (if I'm allowed to keep them there that is) but I can't guarentee I'll always be there and that's not fair on the chooks. I suppose that besides site rules, it depends how much time you'll be spending there?Shortie

I'm going green I've still not heard about a vacant plot on mine
BUT did spot what lookd like other allotments earlier today. If I've not just mortally offended someone's back garden (i did look a bit messy!) then I think they may not be council owned as they're just as close as the other sire and the council made not mention of this one (actually told me about on 3-4 miles away instead of ths other one). Might have to have a nose tomorrowShortie
