Allotments catford

I am a member of an allotment society in catford with a waiting list of 1!!!!! the site is run really well, we have water plumbed into each of our plots and have manure delivered into the site twice a week for free.I have never understood how we do not have a huge waiting list and when you hear of council sites having a list of 400 people, you really would think that they would pass on our details to other groups. So locals the sites are out there for other allotment societys.

I was on Lewishams list for 4 years!!!. I have finally got a plot in Deptford as there are none available where I live in Brockley. Theres is a 1/2 plot available next to mine. The allotments where mine is are considered hard to let because of their location, you may be lucky if you speak to Katie the allotments officer and ask about Windlass place.

Sorry I have only just seen your post, but I had already been offered one in Grove Park anyway - and I do like it there. But yours sounds great and I expect it is closer to me than Grove Park. Anyway - seems like you may have a prospective allotmenteer out there! Where is it exactly? I'd love to come and visit!

Hi I'm new to this site and your post just gave me a little hope. I live in Catford and am totally desperate for an allotment. I'm on the Lewisham waiting list but I'm not sure if a plot will come up in my lifetime. I asked teh Council about local societies but was told there are none!!!!! I would love to learn more about your society and if possible join your waiting list. Please can you contact me to let me know how I can go about this.

thanks for your reply. I'm still hopeful and trying not to get too despondant. I've resorted to looking for unused land to try to persuade the Council to convert to new allotments...unlikely to happen but hey have to try
