  • We got one !!!!

We are so pleased to finally have an allottment but now have to wait till 13th October to get onto it. I've got the key and we've visited the plot and it isn't as bad as we thought it could be.

We have a shed and raised beds, more sunken than anything and a few beds that are worthy of doing something now with some raspberry canes and a few leeks growing.

We cannot get at the moment as the person leaving has till then to clear the shed out, going to be a long 2 weeks but we can't wait to get going and the boys are very excited. We have a bit of work today in re-establishing the size of some of the beds and seeing what is lurking under some of the covers that are down, not looking forward to that.

The site we are on seems to be very poorly managed and there isn't one decent growing / looking plot. We are now hoping to borrow a petrol strimmer and go beg borrow or steal some timber, think I have an old friend whose a builder, will have to give him a tinkle. Once I can work out how to hook up the camera I'll show you the pictures.

First things first, weed, dig, manure and dig some more then onions, garlic, leeks and move my strawberries over.
I'm new to veggies, but trying !

      Fantastic news!

2 weeks to wait, that's 14 days and counting no doubt.

Hope the plot robbers don't take the shed etc because that's a real possibility.

People on our site took over a plot that had nearly the whole plot that was a fruit cage. By the time they officially got on there, the cage and netting was gone.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

Excellent news...... now all you have to do, is think about all the stuff you can grow next year.

Here on Mersea Island we haven't got any allotments yet, but there is talk about having some...... might have to keep my eye out.

Didn't realise that anybody got plots with sheds already on! Fab news, got mine at the end of August, still loads to do but will be picking up a freecycle shed at the weekend and hopefully some scaffold boards next week.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
