Might be logit but what happens when they come to seel the house and find someones paid £5 for the garden ... I wonder who pays the conveyancing fees

        You know something?
If that is a legit offer, then good for him, It's just what I was talking about in the other allotment thread, about people sharing space so that newbies can have a go, see if they can cope, before going on to rent their own space. If I had a big garden that i couldn't cope with renting out part, or lending space to someone, is a GOOD idea,( if you get the right person of course, not sure i would e-bay it to just anyone)

I read it as *use* of the garden, not ownership.

If the home owner is elderly/disabled/too busy or even just not interested, then why not offer the space to someone who would benefit from it?
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

My first allotment was the MIL's next door neighbours Council house garden!

In those days Council house gardens were huge, now they've just grassed the lot and made it open plan!

I grew smashing stuff in there especially as I was on enforced strike from work for six months. Garden was like a palace and productive too!

Come to think of it......garden was about the same size as an allotment, probably because of it's pit heritage and blokes GYO after spending time under ground!

It's certainly not a bad idea to cultivate an elderly persons large garden if they can't manage it!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

my mum has an ex council house, we moved there in the mid sixties, her and Dad bought it later when they had the option.
The garden is massive lengthwise, real council house, not like these days, they have always grown their own. now I help her keep it up, since Dad died earlier in the year it really too much for her, sadly as i dont drive I only get over once week, but we are looking forward to planning it for next year to make it easier for her to cope with.

This sounds really dodgy, no images and no one bidding and a mobile to ring. Hmmm, all the signs of gone in a flash after they get your credit card details.
