I am 7th on the list

I just heard I am 7th on the list for an allotment in my village.

Not sure if this is good or bad. But I don't think they change hands that often.

I applied in July, had 2 calls after saying the plots change hands in September. And would I take on a half-plot (yes), was told I would hear in October when the committee changed hands....

I badgered with a few letters and have just had a reponse, 3 months later.

I am wondering if I slipped through their net afte their calls.

How big a site is it? Are any of the plots in a state? That makes a difference to how long it takes. I reckon we've turned over at least 5 on our site in the last year, and I know of another 2 that will be changing hands this month. So don't despair

our allotment officer is going to be a bit heavy handed with plotholders this year, she has the attitude, that she is sick of the sob stories.........

how many lotties are their in the village? maybe you should write to the committee and ask?
