We are planning to move to this area and have been looking for a house with enough land to provide a veg plot. Anything with our price range does not generally have land so we are now thinking that we should perhaps buy a house to suit and then look for an allotment. I have looked at East Yorkshire Council sites but can't find anything close to where we want to live. Does anyone live in that area and know anything about allotments (either council or private) which might be suitable?

If the allotment sites are run by a Parish Council, rather than the district council, they might not be mentioned on the website. Our lotties are under parish council management and so aren't on Craven District website.
All the Parish Councils should be listed with contact details for the Clerk. You should ring the ones for the areas you are looking to live in and ask them about local allotments.

There are allotments in Flamborough which are about a five minute drive from Sewerby. I can't remember the name of the road, but it's a left turn near the church towards Filey. I know this as we take our grandson camping nearby and I love a stroll past to see what's going on.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
