Have chased up the council re the massive waiting lists and was told that I'm still 30 something on all the local allotment lists - not very good but have managed to persuade OH to let me grow some crops in the front garden also so long as they look a bit more tidy - am thinking of going for the 3 sisters thingy and a load of herbs this year but not sure what I can put in for the winter.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sorry to hear the waiting list is still so long Alison, have you thought about petitioning the council for more allotments? If theres 6 people who want one they have an obligation to provide them, perhaps ask around at various sites and see whether you can get 6 folks who want a plot together and see what you can do?
Good news about the front garden tho!Blessings

Have also been speaking to a woman from one of the Parish councils which is sounding a bit more promising. She's been far more helpful than the council and although she hasn't got any at the moment she has added me to 4 more lists and seems to think something may come up some time - haven't actually mentioned this to OH yet, will see what happens first but think he's coming around to the idea (is there a fingers crossed smillie?)

Like that idea, he's getting into the harvesting side and is quite interested in the seedlings but has neither the patience of dexterity to do the fiddlly stuff.

Lol! He'd have to learn! Mr D is very impatient, but he's having to learn patience, if it were up to him, we'd be harvesting all our crops now! Have had to try and reign him in a bit, he was about to plant 5 cucumber plants this afternnon when I got home!Blessings
