If anybody is close to the Croydon/Bromley border (Beckenham) and doesn’t mind taking over an overgrown (and I mean overgrown - Blackberries and Ash Tree Saplings) then there are some plots available. PM me and I will supply the Secretary’s telephone number.

South East London is a BIG area...you need to be more specific as to where you are looking. I am in Croydon and there are about 20 sites I know of in a 5 mile area.

Don't suppose this offer is still available?

Edit - I just noticed that was your one and only post and there are no contact details for you.

never even thought of them. I always presumed all the local allotments were full with massive waiting lists. I have nothing to lose so I might as well pop down and see whats what.

I can find any info on either on the web to see if they are open on Sundays so I will just head down tomorrow.

Enmore road have a shop so will be open sunday, dont know much about Selhurst Road. I know that there are plots free at New Addington but its a bit of a treck from SE19, and its on chalk and most of the free plots are on a slope. They have a shop and its open sunday.

I went down to Enmore road this morning but there was no shop (that I could see), there was just a locked gate. I waited for about 30 minutes but no one came along. I can't find any contact details on line. Anyone know of anyone from that site?

Thank you thats why we are here. The shop is just past the gate on the right.

I do the judging there for best plot so I will find out what the suituation is. Pampulsford Road Purley have vacant plots. I was talking to their chairman today at an Eco event...it is aCroydon Council Site but the commitee is taking over the management themselves.

Why don't you put your self on our waiting list at Glenthorn Avenue (ASWLG) we have 30 on the list BUT we have 450 plots so there is a bit of turnover during the year. We ent from Sept but if you dont keep up your plot (with out reason) you loose it.

Maybe the shop was closed because of the bank holiday or something but it was all closed up when I got there (about 11ish).

Do you have contact details for the ASWLG? Edit - I just realised you lot are really close.

I'll check out Pampulsford Road not too sure how far that is from me though.

Just looking on google maps and it looks like there used to be allotments the other side of the tracks behind South Norwood lake. Looks like it's dead land now though.

I wouldn't mind some of that. I will gladly take an allotment that needs some work
