National Trust Allotments?

Apologies if I'm behind the times (nothing new there) but has anyone seen this?

Creating 1,000 new allotments

What I know about allotments you can fit on a pin head with room to spare, but I thought it might be handy news for someone.

Its a help but I wouldn't get too excited about it. its 1000 plots over 3 years so that it 330 per year over 40 sites That is only 8 per site per year.

I think this is just a PR stunt.

We created 50 new plots on our site but strimming all the odd bits of land and corners.

I bet I could walk round most sites and find space for a few plots.

Oh that's bad! TBH I don't have much respect for the NT and that hasn't helped. It's all PR as you say Nog. How very disappointing.

I've also just trawled the NT website for this reinstated Dig for Victory campaign. I couldn't find any productive info.
